Tulsa Water Heater Replacement Tips

There are four Univeral signs that point at one needing to replace their Tulsa Water Heater, and those points are as follows:

  • Water Heater Age – Knowing the age of a water heater is cutial as they typically last about 10 years. To find the age, look at the serial number on the manufacturer’s sticker. The serial number contains the date the water heater was manufactured. The serial number will have a date code like “E092143749”. The letter stands for the number of the month and the first two digits represent the year. So, this example says May 2009
  • Rusty water – If rust is showing in the hot water pipes or water itself coming, this can be a sign that your water heater is rusting away and may begin to leak.
  • Rumbling noise – Sediment tends build up on the bottom of the tank as it ages. As the sediment is heated and reheated, it will eventually harden. You can often hear rumbling or banging noises coming from the water heater as it is heating up. This is a sign that the water heater is at the end of its life.
  • Water around the water heater – If noticeable moisture forms around your heater, you may have a small leak or a fracture in the tank. As the metal heats and expands, water may leak from the tank. Once the metal has cooled the inner tank will stop leaking. If all of the connections and fittings are dry, it may be time to replace the water heater.
